STATEMENT FROM THE HOWARD COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT REGARDING A RECENT FACEBOOK POST

Recently, Howard County Police received numerous inquiries about a Facebook post regarding a resident’s alleged interactions with CVS employees, a store patron, and police officers at the CVS in the Wilde Lake Village Center. A detailed investigation into the allegations has determined that there is no evidence this incident occurred.

Police were made aware of the post on Monday, July 16. We immediately contacted the person who made the post and initiated an investigation. After interviewing her, investigators viewed video from the store and did not see her or any police activity; determined no 911 calls or police reports were received regarding the alleged incident; confirmed that no officers responded to the CVS location; and interviewed employees at the CVS store, who reported that no incident occurred. Investigators could not substantiate any portion of the alleged encounter at the CVS.

CVS corporate offices and local management were cooperative in offering immediate access to video and employees. The Howard County Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of service to every person who lives in, works in, and visits the county. While this incident did not occur, we take all allegations of misconduct seriously and will thoroughly investigate each report.
