Re: Mystic Ct Channel Repair
Dear Resident/Property Owner:
A storm drain outfall repair project behind 5517 Mystic Ct in Columbia has been identified by the Howard County Department of Public Works, Bureau of Environmental Services in coordination with Columbia Association. We anticipate the design for this repair will occur over the next 12 months. Please be advised that the consulting firm of Biohabitats, Inc has been retained by the County to perform the design for the repair. Part of the initial site assessment work will include field surveys, which will include but not be limited to, site topography, existing drainage infrastructure (storm drain inlets, pipes and outlets), and
natural resources including existing trees and wetlands, within the area identified on the attached map.
The surveyors or employees of the consulting firm acting on behalf of the Department of Public Works of Howard County will predominantly be on County property and the County public drainage easements but there is a small chance that they may be entering onto private land by foot for the purpose of making the necessary field surveys in order to perform the assessments and may do so in accordance with Real Property Article Section 12-111, inclusive, of the Annotated Code of Maryland. Our consultant has been advised to take every precaution to limit disturbance to private property.
Once the site assessment has been completed and an initial concept design is developed, there will be a public meeting to provide the public with more information about the proposed repair work.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me using the information below.
Sincerely,
Avinash Dewani, P.E.
