Due to recent flooding, the County has extended the hours of the Alpha Ridge Landfill, located at 2350 Marriottsville Road in Marriottsville. Until further notice, the Landfill will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Weekend hours will remain as normally scheduled (Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday). Howard County residents bringing storm related construction debris (e.g. drywall, framing, wood molding, carpet, padding, etc.) brick, block, rock or dirt/soil must cross the scales. There will be NO CHARGE for residents to dispose of these items. However, there will be a fee for contractors disposing material at the Alpha Ridge Landfill.
Curbside bulk trash pickup can be scheduled for items such as furniture and other household items destroyed by the storm. Please contact the Bureau of Environmental Services at 410-313-6444 to schedule collection.
